3. Choose your region or location

Each region in Spain has its own character, climate, culture and facilities. Think of the vibrant coastal towns on the Costa del Sol, the quiet inland of Andalusia, or the green hills of Costa Blanca North. Accessibility also plays a role: how far is the flight, is there an airport nearby, and what about local facilities such as shops, healthcare and public transport?

If you don't know the area well yet, a visit to the area is essential. Experience the atmosphere, explore the area at different times of the day, and ask yourself the question: can I really see myself living here?

You can always adapt a home, but the location is permanent - so choose carefully.
