Step 3. Signing of the preliminary purchase contract

After reserving your dream home, the next important step in the process of buying a house in Spain follows: signing the preliminary purchase contract.

When signing this contract, a deposit of 20 to 40% of the purchase price is usually requested. The amount that you previously paid when making the reservation will of course be deducted from this. In this contract you will also find the agreements about the further processing, including the planned date on which you can receive the keys to your new home.

Important: in order to be able to sign this contract legally, you need an NIE number (Número de Identificación de Extranjero). This identification number is mandatory for foreigners who want to buy a house in Spain. So start the application in time via the Spanish consulate in the Netherlands and Belgium or let one of our lawyers arrange this for you - our brokers will of course inform you about this in good time.

MedVilla ensures that you are well prepared and do not miss a step in the process of buying a house in Spain.
